In 1873, Mr. Joseph Eilles opened the first specialty house for the finest tea and coffee in Munich’s Residenzstrasse. Eilles quickly became the royal Bavarian purveyor to the court and is still today synonymous with royal enjoyment of tea, coffee and fine delicacies. Joseph Eilles was an unconditional quality fanatic for whom good was never good enough.

King Ludwig II of Bavaria was visibly impressed and appointed him purveyor to the court and from then on let himself be supplied with fine delicacies. We still live the philosophy of Jospeh Eilles unchanged today: only the best plantations, tea gardens, chocolatiers, wineries etc. work on behalf of our house and guarantee our quality promise.
